Lonely is a word that gets used so casually it has almost lost its weight. But the real thing, the actual lived experience of it, sits in your chest. It changes how the light looks in a room. It turns a quiet afternoon into something that aches.
Not Today is a workbook built for that. Not for when you’re fine. For when you’re not, and you’re not sure where to start.
It works differently from most workbooks. Instead of a single linear path, it offers three:
Path One: Circumstantial Loneliness, for when the wall is external, logistics, circumstance, a life that has made isolation the default
Path Two: Self-Imposed Isolation, for when you chose this room and it’s started to feel harder to leave than you expected
Path Three: Illness-Related Isolation, for when something in your brain or body is holding the door shut right now
You choose your path. You follow what feels heaviest today. The paths connect, because that’s how it actually works.
Throughout, you’ll find the BEES framework (Breathing, Eating, Exercising, Sleeping) as a compass back to the basics when everything else has collapsed. You’ll find honest writing about mania, grief, burned bridges, re-entry, and the vulnerability of reaching back out. You’ll find reflection prompts with real space to write.
No performance required. No single right path. Just you and the workbook and finally a little room to name what’s been happening.
